API and MCP

Pro teams can read and change their decisions from their own tools. The base URL is https://data.decisiontrackr.com.

API keys

A team admin creates a key from the seat admin page. Sign in with the email that bought the subscription. Decision Trackr emails a link. The link works once and expires in 15 minutes.

That signed-in session calls POST /v1/api-keys. A name is optional. The response includes the full key once. It starts with dtk_. The warning is: This key is shown once. Store it now.

GET /v1/api-keys lists keys by the last four characters. It never returns the secret. DELETE /v1/api-keys/{id} revokes a key. DELETE /v1/api-keys with the key id in the JSON body does the same. A team can have 25 active keys. This key is not the licence key, and a seat token cannot create one.

Decision routes

Send Authorization: Bearer and the team API key. These routes reject a seat token and an admin session.

Decision API routes
MethodPathAuth
GET/v1/decisionsTeam API key
POST/v1/decisionsTeam API key
GET/v1/decisions/{id}Team API key
PATCH/v1/decisions/{id}Team API key
GET/v1/changesTeam API key

GET /v1/decisions accepts file, status, maker, q, updatedSince, limit and cursor. status is logged, proposed, accepted or superseded. GET /v1/changes accepts since and limit. A decision id in the path starts with dec_.

POST /v1/sync is how the plugin uploads decisions. It uses a Pro seat token, not the team API key.

MCP

Connect a client to POST https://data.decisiontrackr.com/mcp with the same team API key. The client must accept both application/json and text/event-stream. GET /mcp and DELETE /mcp are not used.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json or the project .cursor/mcp.json, then reload MCP servers. Do not commit the key.

Tools

All six tools see only the team that owns the key.

  • list_decisions. List this team's decisions. Optional filters: file, status, maker, updatedSince.
  • search_decisions. Text search across title, details, path, makers and status.
  • get_decision. One decision by id.
  • record_decision. Create a decision for a Figma file key and node id.
  • update_decision. Patch a decision. The latest updatedAt wins.
  • list_changes. Change log after a since cursor.
